GOOGLE’DAN ÖNCEKİ ZAMANLARIMIZ

KİTAPLARIN BÜYÜSÜ

Geçenlerde yardımsever bir arkadaşım aradı.

Bir okula yepyeni kütüphane yapılmış.

Ama rafları bomboşmuş. Hiç kitap yokmuş.

“Acaba kitap bulabilir miyiz?” diye sordu.

“Hatta ansiklopedi bulsak, raflarda onlardan da olsa.”

Gerçek bir kütüphane gibi…

“Buluruz” dedim.

Eşe dosta mesaj attım, “elinizde okumadığınız kitaplar varsa talibiz” diye.

Sonra geri dönüşler oldu.

Sağ olsunlar, biriktirdikleri kitapları kutulara yerleştirmişler.

Gidip aldık tek tek.

İçlerinde ne güzel romanlar, öykü, tarih kitapları var.

Cilt cilt ansiklopediler.

Neler neler…

Yakında okul kütüphanesinin raflarında yerlerini alacaklar.

Çocuklar gidip istediklerini seçecekler, alıp okuyacaklar…

Google olmadan önce Ansiklopedilerimiz, Sözlüklerimiz, Atlaslarımız Vardı Bizim

Ansiklopediler Vazgeçilmezimizdi

Bizim çocukluğumuzda, internetin, bilgisayarın olmadığı dönemlerde ansiklopediler ne kadar kıymetliydi.

Gazetelerden kupon biriktirilir, fasiküller toplanır, en sonunda tüm parçalar ciltlenir, bir dizi ansiklopediye dönüşürdü.

Doğrudan ansiklopediyi satın alıp kütüphanesinde baş köşeye yerleştirenler de vardı.

Her evde yoktu tabii.

Bizde o büyüklerden yoktu mesela.

Ödev oldu mu dosya kâğıdımı, kalemimi alıp ansiklopedisi olan arkadaşlarıma giderdim.

Kalın ciltlerin arasından alfabetik sıradan konuyu bulur, yazardım.

Bu arada diğer bilgilere de gözüm ilişir; kelimelerin, fotoğrafların arasında kaybolurdum.

Zaman içinde bize de ansiklopedi alındığında nasıl da sevinmiştim.

Fırsat buldukça açar açar okurdum.

Okul kütüphanesine ansiklopedi ve kitap toplarken o günler geldi aklıma.

Bazen kitap bulmakta zorlandığım zamanlar geldi.

Günümüzde de maalesef kitap ve kaynak bulmakta zorlanan yavrular çok.

Kurulan kütüphanelere elimden geldiğince destek vermeye çalışmam biraz da bu yüzden…

Bu çalışmalar sırasında görüyorum ki insanlar gerçekten yardımcı olmaya hevesli.

Sadece söylemek yetiyor.

Eş, dost, arkadaşlardan “bizde ne ansiklopediler vardı da artık bilgilere bilgisayardan, telefondan Gooegle’a girip ulaşıyoruz diye onları ne yapacağımızı bilemedik.” Diyen çok oldu.

Bazıları eskicilere vermiş, bazıları depoya koymuş, orada nemden bozulup gitmiş ansiklopediler.

Bazıları da utanarak “çöpe bıraktıklarını” söylediler.

İkisini de çöpte görmek üzüyor bizleri…

Sadece ansiklopediler değil, bazen duvar köşelerine bırakılmış kitaplar da görüyoruz.

Nasıl mahzun duruyorlar öyle.

Oysa bir insanın gözü değse sayfalarına.

Bir çocuk tek cümle de olsa bilgi öğrense.

Bir genç alsa okusa.

Kelebek etkisi olur dünyamızda.

Okunan, öğrenilen her bilgi katlanarak çoğalır, misliyle geri döner sahibine.

Evinizde kitap fazlaysa vardır çevrenizde okuyan insanlar, gençler, onlara ulaştırın hiç olmazsa.

Ya da yakınınızdaki bir okula gidip sorun “ihtiyaç var mı” diye…

Kitap Okumada Alt Sıralardayız

Ne yazık ki kitap okuma oranına baktığımızda,  milletler arasında son sıralardayız.

Ne yazık ki okuyan küçük bir kesim var ülkemizde.

Ne yazık ki kitaplar çok pahalandı.

Belki  fiyatları biraz daha uygun olsa, okuma oranları yükselir mi? bilmiyorum.

Okullara kütüphane kurma, evlerde öylece duran kitapları toparlayıp genç beyinlere ulaştırmada köprü görevi üstlenmeyi bu nedenle önemsiyorum.

Belki bir çocuğun ufku açılır bu sayede.

Belki kitaba ulaşamayan bir köy okulunun öğrencileri onlara ulaştırılan kitaplardan dünyayı tanır.

İlime, bilime, tarihe, edebiyata, felsefeye ilgi duyar…

En Güzel Hediye Kitaptır

Katılan olur ya da olmaz ama bence öyle.

Kitaplar, en güzel ve kalıcı hediyelerdir.

Sevdiğiniz kişinin ilgi alanına göre bir kitap seçersiniz, üstüne küçük bir not, sade bir hediye paketi.

Çok okuyan biri olmasa dahi hediye olduğu için okumak durumunda kalır, en azından kapağını açar, birkaç sayfa çevirir, bakarsınız ilk cümleler yakalar onu,  devamını getirir.

Sonrası gelir…

Kitabın sihri bir kez değdi mi insanın yüreğine kolay kolay çıkmaz.

Okumanın güzelliğini keşfeden doyamaz.

Kutsal Kitabımız Kuran’ın ilk cümlesinin “OKU” diye başlamasının hikmeti ne büyüktür…

Ne mutlu okuyanlara.

Okumayı teşvik edenlere.

Ne mutlu kalem tutan ellere.

Yazanlara.

Bu dünyaya kitap gibi değerli bir eser bırakanlara.

Ne mutlu evi kitapla dolup taşanlara.

Elinde kitapla dolaşanlara…

Ne mutlu bilginin yayılmasına vesile olanlara.

A STORY OF BUILDING A LIBRARY OUR TIMES BEFORE GOOGLE THE MAGIC OF BOOKS

Recently a friend of mine called.

An unlimited library was built for a school.

But the shelves are empty. There aren’t any books.

“I wonder if we can get some books for them?” he asked.

“Even if it is finding an encyclopedia.”

Like a real library…

“We’ll find it,” I said.

He sent a message to his wife and friend, saying, “If you have books that you don’t need, we are interested”.

Then there was the feedback.

Thankfully, they put the books they had collected in boxes.

We went and collected them one by one.

There are beautiful novels, short stories and history books in them.

Volumes of encyclopedias.

And more…

They will soon be on the shelves of the school library.

Children will go, choose, pick and read…

Before Google We Had Encyclopedias, Dictionaries, Atlases

Encyclopedias Were Indispensable

How valuable were encyclopedias in our childhood, when the internet was not on your computer.

Coupons were collected from newspapers, fascicles were separated, eventually all parts were deleted, turning into a series of encyclopedias.

There were also those who bought the encyclopedia directly and placed it in the corner of their library.

Not every home, of course.

For example, we did not have any of those elders.

When it was homework, I would take my paper and pen and go to my friends who have an encyclopedia.

I would find and write alphabetically ordinary topics between thick volumes.

In the meantime, my eye caught other information too; I’m lost in words and photos.

How glad I was with the encyclopedia over time.

Whenever I had the chance, I would read it.

Those days came when I was collecting encyclopedias and books from the school library.

There were times when I had a hard time finding books.

Unfortunately, there are many others who have difficulty in finding books and resources in their lives.

This is partly why I try to support the established libraries…

The people are really eager to help too, from what I’ve seen.

“We didn’t know what to do with the encyclopedias we had because we can reach Google from our computers or phone” said most spouses and friends.

Encyclopedias that they gave to some old dealers, some of them were put in storage, and they were spoiled by moisture there.

some of them shyly said that they were”wasted”.

Two important blessings…

It saddens us to see both of them in the trash…

We see it not only in encyclopedias, but sometimes in books left on the corners of the walls.

How sad they look.

However, if a person’s eyes touch its pages.

A child learns information, even in a single sentence.

If a young man reads it.

The butterfly effect happens in our world.

Every piece of information read and learned multiplies exponentially and returns to its owner in duplicate.

If there is a book in your house, there are people around you who read it, at least you can deliver it to them.

Or the problem of going to a school near you “is there a need”…

We Are Lower In The Book Reading Rankings

Unfortunately, in the ranking of reading books, we are in the last place among the nations.

Unfortunately, there is a small group of people who read.

Unfortunately, the books are very expensive.

Maybe if the prices were a little more affordable, would the reading rates go up? I don’t know.

That’s why I care about setting up libraries for schools, collecting the books that are sitting at home, and taking on the role of a bridge in delivering them to young minds.

Maybe their horizon will be opened in this way.

Maybe a child from a village school who can’t reach the book gets to know the world from the books delivered to them.

He is interested in science, science, history, literature, philosophy…

The Best Gift is a Book

Agree or not, but I think so.

Books are the most beautiful and lasting gifts.

Recommend a book according to the interests of your loved one, not a small one, but a simple gift package.

Even if he is not a person who reads a lot, he has to read because it is a gift, the flowers he needs to carry are the most important flowers, turn a few pages, you catch the first sentence, he will continue.
