Ülkemizde Türkan Şoray’ı duymayan, tanımayan yoktur. O, Türk sinemasında en uzun süre zirvede kalan ilk ve tek sinema oyuncumuzdur.

Türkan Şoray, 1960 yılında Türker İnanoğlu’nun yönettiği ‘’Köyde Bir Kız Sevdim’’ filmiyle sinema oyunculuğuna başlar.

Pek çok filmde rol alan sanatçı son derece işine bağlı, aldığı rolün hakkını vermeye çalışan, övünmeyi sevmeyen bir insandır. Çok çalışır, az konuşur.

Sinema severler kendisine ‘Sultan’, ‘Büyük Yıldız’ ünvanlarını verdiklerinde ‘’Ben star olmayı kabul etmiyorum. Hiçbir zaman sevenlerime hayranlarımı demedim. Böyle şeylerin yakışık olmadığını düşünüyorum. ‘’ der. Sonra ilave eder: ‘’ Hayatta en nefret ettiğim şey şımarıklık, ukalalık ve kendini beğenmişliktir. Hiçbir zaman başım dönmedi. Çünkü birdenbire şöhret olmadım. Şimdi insanlar birdenbire şöhret oluyorlar.’’

Türk sinemasına sayısız ödül kazandıran sanatçıya bir muhabir ‘’En çok neyinizi komik buluyorsunuz? ‘’ diye sorduğunda ünlü sanatçı ‘’En çok dalga geçtiğim şey yaptığım abartılı makyajlar. Ah diyorum o nasıl makyaj? Kimse dur ne yapıyorsun ‘’ dememiş, cahillik işte.

Umarız günümüzün film ve televizyon dizisi yapımcı ve yönetmenlerinin kulaklarına küpe olur.

Türkan Şoray started her acting career in 1960 with the movie “I Loved a Girl in the Village” directed by Türker Inanoğlu.

The actress, who has acted in many films, is a person who is extremely devoted to her work, plays her role thoroughly, and does not like to brag. She works hard and speaks little.

When movie lovers gave her the titles of ‘Sultan’ and ‘Big Star’, she said, “I do not accept being a star. I never called my lovers my fans. I think that stuff like that is out of line.’ Then she adds: “The thing I hate the most in life is sassiness, arrogance and cavalierness. I’ve never been dizzy. Because I didn’t become famous all of a sudden. Now people suddenly become famous.”

A reporter asked to the actress, who has won numerous awards to Turkish cinema, “What do you find funny the most of you? And the famous actress said; “The thing I make fun of the most is the exaggerated make-up I do. Oh I say, how is that make-up? Nobody said “stop what you are doing”, that’s ignorance.
